Hey y’all – if ya didn’t know, my momma is Zona Mahaffey, and last month on May 4, it was a Sunday night, she was constantly throwing up for 24 hours & it was the final straw. She had been throwing up here and there for close to 2 months prior, but nothing like this. We went into the ER, and they ran some labs. Before even finding out anything, it looked like they would be admitting her due to dehydration and low white blood cell count. Afterwards, they ran some CAT scans and found a large tumor in her stomach, and we were told she had cancer.
It’s been a little over a long month now & she is diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma that found a home inside her stomach, near the small intestine, causing a blockage and obstructing her bowel, which explains why she was constantly throwing up. A few weeks later, she ended up in the ER once again, but this time the pain was unbearable. It was another bowel obstruction, and this would just keep happening, so the doctor decided to speed up the process and start chemo right away.
The first round of chemo has already shrunk the tumor 3cm. The doctor is really happy with how this is turning out and says B-cell lymphoma is really sensitive to the treatment he is doing, which we love to hear and are staying positive over here.
My momma is on a fixed income & the medical bills are starting to roll in. If you can donate anything to help her with future medical bills, co-pays, & prescriptions, it would be forever appreciated. Leave her a message here, and I’ll share them all with her. My momma is a fighter, and she will beat this. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
