Struggling Mother with Cancer
My name is Stephanie and I’m a single mother of 2 young children. I was recently diagnosed with Stage 4B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 40. This type of cancer is a treatable blood cancer that has spread from my lymph nodes to my lungs, spleen, and possibly my heart. I’m currently on a treatment plan that requires aggressive chemotherapy and immunotherapy, but I might require radiation and other forms of treatment as well.
Being a single mother with a single income hasn’t allowed me the best medical insurance. Most hospitals and treatment centers do not accept my medical insurance or cover the cost of my medications. The medical help I’m receiving is very minimal and costly. I haven’t been able to work at my job due to the treatments, so medical bills and other expenses are quickly adding up.
I’m starting this fundraiser to hopefully pay off some of the medical expenses for my cancer and allow myself to continue on my treatment plan. I’m trying to focus on my health and take care of my family, which has become harder with the added stress of medical expenses. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
