On June 12, Ricky (Mayhem) Taylor’s 40th birthday, our lives changed in an instant. Ricky woke up with severe abdominal pain, and we rushed to the emergency room. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis, which quickly became life-threatening. By the next day, his kidneys and liver were starting to shut down, and his lungs were surrounded by fluid due to the intense inflammation. Early Sunday morning, we made the difficult decision to put Ricky on full life support and sedation, hoping his body would have a chance to recover. He was transferred to a level one facility better equipped to handle his critical condition. This sudden escalation has been overwhelming for our family, and I’m reaching out for help as we navigate this crisis.
Ricky is the heart of our family and the main provider for our household. He’s known for his compassion—always ready to help someone in need, whether it’s feeding the hungry, giving to IBEW brotherhood collections, or simply offering kindness to strangers. He loves to sing, play guitar, and spend time with loved ones. Recently, he’s become quite the dog trainer to our mastiff puppy, Silas. With Ricky in the hospital, our daily routines have been upended. I’ve been at his bedside as much as possible, only leaving to rest briefly at home. My dad has been caring for Silas, and Ricky’s mom and brother have come to support us during this difficult time.
The funds raised will go directly toward Ricky’s immediate medical expenses, household bills, and may allow me to reduce my work schedule so I can continue to be present for him in the ICU. Any support, whether through donations, prayers, or sharing our story, means the world to us. Thank you for standing with us as we fight for Ricky’s recovery.
