Last month, Rick Koslica received a diagnosis that was not only extremely hard to hear, but life-altering in so many ways. He has Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.
At 61 years old, he was told he has one year to live. The cancer was found during a procedure he needed to replace a stent in his pancreas. The previous stent was placed just a few months prior and at that time, no cancer cells were detected. Since diagnosis, he has a port in place for his chemotherapy, and treatment began almost immediately. He is on the most aggressive chemo and is currently on round 2 this week. Unfortunately, the cancer is inoperable in Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. It has metastasized and begun to spread to the lymph nodes and to the liver.
This unexpected diagnosis can definitely take a toll on one’s mental and physical being. It also comes with a crap ton of financial stress. Financial burden alone can drive anyone crazy, so with this new way of life, it is more than one can ever prepare for. While trying to maintain the normal financial demands, he now has travel costs, hospital expenses, medicine expenses, and so much more.
In order to help lift some of the weight off his shoulders, we ask for a helping hand. The love and generosity that you can offer will give Rick the chance to focus on his treatment, recovery, and healing. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact. If you are able to donate, no amount is too small. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help us reach others who might be able to.
Please help Rick stay motivated, clear-headed, and mentally strong during this vigorous treatment regimen and help him any way we can.
