Please help if you can… On June 7th, I was involved in a motorcycle accident on OR-201. A deer happened to cross into my lane and what I would think was just a simple headed home after ufc fights and working spiraled into a series of unfortunate events before I could be sent home June 12th.
Motor vehicles, PLEASE, never use brights for Deer warnings. They’ll stop in a daze at the lights for traffic. Please, use hazards and honk. I was luckily traveling home slower than the speed limit on OR-201 when I impacted the deer and fortunately to my bike crash cage protection that was helping support the freshly split in half deer on the frame. I was able to slow the bike down to around 20 MPH before its body slid under the rear tire and I went down.
I was subsequently transported to St. Lukes Fruitland for my knee stitches and CT scans before I was transferred by ambulance to St. Lukes Meridian for medical treatment. I sustained a small list of injuries thankfully to my riding gear I had on. But the ones I obtained definitely aren’t a “small injury” and have me relearning how to function in life everyday now that I’m limited. I can’t use my writing hand, can’t put any weight on my right hip or right wrist while they heal. My injuries sustained: a fractured right sacral pelvis, right wrist scaphoid fracture, road rash, and severe bruising on my right hip.
As a result of my injuries, I am currently unable to transport myself anywhere, work or perform daily tasks as a father and as an individual. Due to the hospitalization and ongoing medical appointments, I fear I am facing difficulties in meeting my monthly financial obligations.
My full recovery timeline remains 6-8 maybe 10 weeks, and my hospital care will involve one surgery still set to be done on my wrist coming Tuesday and rehabilitation for both injuries. The wrist injury sounds like it may take longest to heal.
This fund will help cover my ongoing medical expenses, transportation fees, and the many unforeseen costs that come with such a sudden and life-altering event.
Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
