Help Raymond Davis Jr. Come Home to Heal
Raymond Davis Jr. is my brother, and he’s always been the heart of our family. His talent as a singer and musician, and his deep love for music, have always brought us together. Our family, which includes our parents, my two other brothers, Raymond’s children, and their mother, is united in supporting him. We are all coming together to organize this fundraiser on his behalf.
Four months ago, what should have been a routine hospital procedure turned into a life-altering emergency. An unexpected error during the procedure caused Raymond’s heart to stop twice, and although doctors performed emergency open-heart surgery to save him, the time without oxygen left him with a severe anoxic brain injury. He’s now in a state doctors call a disorder of consciousness, and the prognosis was devastating. We heard words like comatose, vegetative, and unlikely to recover, and we were denied by insurance and turned down by facilities for the next level of care. But we refused to give up hope. Through prayer, advocacy, and persistence, Raymond was finally accepted into a specialized facility focused on Disorders of Consciousness—a true miracle for our family.
Now, we’re preparing for the next step: bringing Raymond home. We want to give him the best chance at healing, surrounded by the people who love him most. The funds we raise will help cover medical transport and discharge expenses, home modifications and equipment, rehabilitation and therapy costs not covered by insurance, and caregiver support for his long-term recovery.
Raymond is still here. He responds to our mom’s voice, and we believe in his fight. Our greatest hope is to see him singing again and spending time with his kids, doing what he loves most.
Your support will help us give Raymond the dignity and comfort of being home, and the best possible chance at recovery. Thank you for believing in him and in our family’s journey.
With love and gratitude,
The Davis Family
