A drunk driver hit me out of nowhere on June 5th, luckily surviving near-fatal injuries. My seatbelt stopped me from flying out the windshield, though my head hit the windshield resulting in multiple head injuries. I underwent emergency surgery for extensive internal injuries and almost didn’t make it out alive. I am grateful to be alive; recovery will be slow.
I have been disabled and out of work since May 2024, as I was diagnosed with workplace-related chronic complex PTSD, resulting from a combination of factors, including long-term exposure to vicarious trauma, being sexually assaulted at the workplace, in addition to other compounding workplace traumas.
By no fault of my own, I have been medically unable to work anywhere since May 2024. Unfortunately, I am unable to continue my career of 21 years advocating for youth in foster care, a career I loved.
- The collision on June 5 has left me and my son in an even greater level of need.
- I am recovering, but it will be a slow, long process and any help financially to assist with medical/trauma treatment costs as well as daily living expenses is greatly needed.
• If you would like to donate towards helping aid in my recovery during this difficult time, it would be humbly appreciated by both myself and my son and family.
Anything helps!
• Donations can also be accepted directly through Venmo, PayPal, Apple Cash, and other forms if preferred.
I am very grateful to be alive.
I am grateful for all my friends and family and all the emergency service workers and medical providers who have gone above and beyond so that I could be here.
Love to you all, sincerely, Meg
