Larry Portwood has always been known for his hard work and dedication, especially to his customers and coworkers at Mineral Palace. Since becoming seriously ill with cirrhosis at the end of December, Larry’s life has changed dramatically. Larry’s friend John, a former coworker, has also been a constant presence—visiting every day and helping with weekly trips to the doctor. Before Larry’s illness, he and John would meet up for meals and catch up, a tradition that speaks to the strong friendships Larry has built.
