Support for a Loving Husband’s Medical Needs

So, my husband, as of 2016, was diagnosed with PKD, renal failure stage 3, hypertension, and arthritis in his upper, lower, and middle spine, and knee. As of now, he is stage 5 renal failure and has started dialysis. He waited until his kidneys were as low as 3% functioning because he felt that the kidney doctors were only interested in putting him on the dialysis machine, or as he calls it, the death machine. His second time of it being done, a nurse at Davita messed up his fistula port, which now can’t be used, and he had to get the port in his chest so he can do dialysis.

His rights as an American human were stepped on by the facility, only worried about putting him on the machine, and never treated him as the hardworking husband and father of 3 sons he should be treated. So, due to some medication not being covered, we are asking for some help with his medications. Also, if possible, someone in the legal field to see if we have a case, since he was injured at a facility that caused bodily harm, and had to get another port surgically installed in his chest so he can do his dialysis treatment, which is 3 times a week.

Also, since the nephrologist only puts the patient on the machines, and everyone else is the ones who actually do the work, we would love to find out why what the patient wants in his care is not being done. He asks that family members who have loved ones on those machines start really going to the facilities. They will see that there are Americans being treated lower than animals, and they need to make sure they are not being rushed on the machine. They rush them off the machine for the next one, and they shouldn’t get away with that.

So, we greatly appreciate any help, and please don’t just drop off your family members at these facilities. He told me dialysis is like being poured out, but they don’t pour it all back in. He said it takes him two days to catch up to feeling normal for one day, which means he is dying because the body can’t keep up. So, we thank everyone for their kindness, thoughts, and prayers, and for making sure that others don’t go through bad experiences as they start these man-made machines that slowly take our loved ones away. He told me sorry for getting sick. Any help and I will make sure it goes to the betterment of his last days, with one of his wishes being to see the beach again.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
