Help Devine Live a Better Life: A Father’s Cry for His Daughter with Cerebral Palsy
Dear friends, kind strangers, and good Samaritans,
My name is Wasike Paul, and I am a proud father to two beautiful twins — Wasike Devine and Wasike Israel — born in May 2018 through cesarean section in Masindi, Uganda. My wife is Kunihira Scovia.
What should have been a joyous celebration quickly turned into a painful and life-changing experience. Just one week after birth, my daughter Devine fell seriously ill. We rushed her back to the hospital, where after a thorough medical examination, she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
After a series of tests and evaluations, we received heartbreaking news: Devine had developed Cerebral Palsy, a lifelong neurological condition that affects movement, muscle tone, and posture. Since then, our journey as a family has never been the same.
A Father’s Struggle
Today, Devine is 6 years old, and though her spirit shines brightly, her health needs are overwhelming. She requires special care, physical therapy, regular medical checkups, and support systems that we simply cannot afford at the moment.
Her mother and twin brother Israel are taking care of her back home in Masindi, Uganda, while I am working far away in South Sudan, doing all I can to earn a living and support them. But life has dealt us another blow — I lost my job in February 2024, and despite being an experienced IT professional, I have struggled to find stable employment since.
We are doing our best, but we’re reaching our breaking point. I am no longer able to provide the care Devine truly deserves. That’s why I am reaching out to you — to anyone with a compassionate heart — for support.
How You Can Help
Your generous contribution will go directly toward:
Medical expenses (therapy, medications, hospital visits)
Assistive devices for movement and daily care
Nutrition and special needs care for Devine
Support for her mother and twin brother who take care of her every day
Whether you can donate $5, $50, or more, every little bit counts and brings hope closer to our family. If you are unable to give, please share this campaign with your network. You never know whose heart you might touch.
From My Heart to Yours
Your kindness could be the turning point in Devine’s life. I know times are tough for many, but if you can extend your hand to help us through this storm, may God Almighty bless you abundantly.
Thank you so much for reading, supporting, and praying for us.
With gratitude and hope,
Wasike Paul
(A Loving Father)
