On June 3rd, our lives changed forever. My son, Deshawn—only 22 years old—was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident while on his way home from work. He suffered traumatic injuries and, heartbreakingly, lost one of his legs. He is currently in the ICU, fighting for his life.
Deshawn is an amazing son, a loving brother, a proud uncle, and a loyal friend. He’s respectful, hardworking, and has always stayed out of trouble. His heart is big, his smile lights up any room, and he means the world to everyone who knows him.
In the days and weeks ahead, Deshawn will have to undergo multiple surgeries. After stabilizing, he’ll begin a long and difficult road to recovery in a rehabilitation facility. This will be a physically, emotionally, and financially demanding journey.
Our main goal with this fundraiser is to help Deshawn receive a custom-made prosthetic leg—a life-changing step toward regaining his independence and mobility. These specialized prosthetics are costly and not fully covered by insurance, but they are crucial to helping him move forward with strength and dignity.
