Support Darren Bergquist’s Stroke Recovery

Our great friend, Darren Bergquist, known to many for his sense of humor, a dedicated coach and a loving and supportive parent, is in need of support.

On June 4th, after many doctors and hospital visits due to health scares, Darren suffered a massive stroke. One week later, he was transferred from Munson to the stroke center and has made his way to inpatient rehab where he is currently. The stroke has highly impacted his mobility, but Darren has every bit of faith that he will learn to walk again. With the help of his amazing care team, he is more determined than ever to be home with his family in record time. True to form, Darren has been the “belle of the ball” at the inpatient facility, making sure to get a smile out of every person he sees, cracking jokes and being incredibly optimistic.

Doctors have informed him that he will have at least a few more weeks at the inpatient facility, undergoing intense physical therapy with hopes that by then he will be healed enough for surgery on his heart. Then he will begin another recovery. It is unknown how long Darren will be unable to work.

Darren is a hardworking and dedicated man, who has spent his adult life working to provide for his family; his wife Heather and daughters Morgan and Kylee. He has always gone the extra mile to make sure they were taken care of, taking on second jobs when needed. With ongoing medical bills and rehabilitation costs, we are reaching out to our community — friends, family, and kind strangers — for help. Every little bit counts and will take away some of the financial burden so the family can focus their time and energy on being there for Darren and his recovery.

Please send prayers, love, and positive energy and, of course, anything you can contribute to the Bergquist family.

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
