Hi, my name is Dana, and I’m a widow and survivor of severe domestic abuse. The violence I endured left me with a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and ever since, I’ve been struggling with seizures and episodes that resemble seizures. These medical challenges have made it impossible for me to work, live normally, or even take care of basic responsibilities on my own.
Right now, I’m in the middle of a TBI research trial at West Virginia University, which is one of the only hopes I have for recovery. But I’m quickly running out of options. I’m at risk of losing my car, which I need to get to my medical appointments, and I have no help with rent, utilities, or mounting medical bills.
I can’t collect unemployment while I’m in the process of applying for disability, and unfortunately, my doctor hasn’t cleared me to work, so I’m in a place of total uncertainty—with no income and no support system.
I never imagined having to ask for help like this, but I’m reaching out with all the strength I have left. Your donation will go toward:
• Keeping a roof over my head
• Paying for necessary medical care and prescriptions
• Saving my car so I can continue getting to treatment
• Covering basic living expenses while I wait for disability
Every dollar makes a difference, and even just sharing my story can help. Thank you so much for reading, for caring, and for helping me hold on to hope.
With love and gratitude,
Dana
