Support a Dad’s Battle with Liver Tumors

My husband is the single greatest person I’ve ever known. He works so hard to provide everything his family could ask for, and for once, he needs my help, and I’m unable to provide what he needs.

My husband, Harrison, went in for a pretty routine colonoscopy. The results, however, were anything but routine. He had a mass on the colon, and after many weeks of stress and testing, he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor. He quickly went into surgery and had it removed, and everything was great.

Earlier this year, however, his levels began to rise again, and with further imaging, it was discovered that he now has hundreds of small tumors in his liver. They are so numerous that surgery is no longer an option.

The absolute top-of-the-line treatment that would remove tumors via ultrasound is something called histotripsy. We are incredibly lucky that a hospital near us is one of the few in the entire United States that offer this procedure. We were initially told our insurance was accepted, so we booked the surgery. Unfortunately, further into the process, we discovered that it was not, in fact, covered, and each session would cost almost $20k.

Our insurance has denied us multiple times. He is currently undergoing another treatment to stall the growths, which is a monthly injection, but they will not take the tumors away. Histotripsy has many studies showing its efficacy at reducing tumor burden while leaving the patient with very few side effects.

Now that his cancer has spread, his life expectancy is likely decreased. He is a father of two wonderful boys, ages 5 and 7, and a sassy, beautiful little girl, age 4. He also has a pretty cool wife. He is my best friend, my everything, my home, and we need him with us as long as he can be.

Thankfully, with some saving, donations, odd jobs, and with me doing gig jobs, I’ve been able to save a lot of his treatment total. If you could find it in your heart to give just a few dollars, it could really help to put us over that finish line. And if you can’t donate, then please share. Anything will help us.

Thank you!!

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
