Hi, I’m Jamie—and this is my beautiful little family. The man in the middle is my stepdad, Gregory. He’s an Army veteran and the proud owner of Faith Works Restoration right here in Tulsa. More than that, he’s the heart of our family—the one who holds us all together.
Gregory has been the sole provider for my mom and two younger siblings, always putting their needs above his own. For the past five months, though, he’s been quietly battling serious health challenges. Even through pain and uncertainty, he’s stood strong in faith, believing for healing—however it may come.
Recently, he was rushed to the ER for a suspected stroke. While the stroke test came back negative and the neurologist ruled that out, they began to suspect multiple sclerosis (MS). Since then, his symptoms have continued to progress, and he may soon be admitted to the hospital again for extreme head pain and concerning behaviors due to brain swelling.
With my mom juggling care for both the little ones and Gregory, she’s now also searching for work to help keep the family afloat. It’s an incredibly heavy load, and this sudden shift has left their single-income household in a vulnerable position.
