Javon and Chey are facing an incredibly difficult time as they care for their newborn daughter, Saige, who was born prematurely and is currently in the NICU at Pittsburgh Women’s Hospital. Saige is in an incubator with a feeding tube and IV, and her stay could last anywhere from 5 to 45 days. The family is still grieving the loss of Saige’s twin sister, Paige, who passed away at birth. This has been an emotional and financial struggle for everyone involved.
Javon is unable to work due to his own medical condition, and Chey was the family’s primary source of income. With Saige’s extended hospital stay, Chey has had to take time away from work to be by her daughter’s side. Chey is also recovering from an emergency C-section, which has made her own recovery longer and more difficult. Their young son is being cared for by grandparents, but the family’s bills and living expenses are piling up at home. The costs of travel, food, and lodging near the hospital are adding up quickly, and the uncertainty of Saige’s recovery makes it even harder to plan for the future. Unfortunately, the Ronald McDonald House is not available for them at this time due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, making it even more difficult to find affordable lodging close to Saige.
Support for Javon, Chey, and Saige will help cover their essential expenses during this critical time. Every contribution will allow them to focus on Saige’s care and healing, without the added stress of financial hardship. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference for this family as they navigate an incredibly challenging journey.
