Restore My Smile and Secure My Future

Help Me Rebuild My Smile and My Future

My Journey as a Single Mother

For the past eighteen years, I’ve dedicated my life to being the best mother I could be to my two children. Like so many single parents, I worked multiple jobs to make ends meet, often putting in sixty-hour weeks just to ensure my kids had everything they needed. During those exhausting years, I survived on whatever kept me going caffeine, quick meals, sugar rushes and I consistently put my own health appointments on the back burner. My children came first, always.

The toll of this lifestyle caught up with me when I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at age thirty. That diagnosis was my wake-up call, and I knew I had to make serious changes. Over the past five years, I’ve completely transformed my approach to health. I’m proud to say that my A1C levels have remained well below the diabetic range consistently, proving that with determination and discipline, I could take control of my health.

This past May, I achieved another milestone I never thought possible during those overwhelming early years of single parenthood I earned my bachelor’s degree. After years of juggling work, parenting, and studies, I finally have the education I need to pursue better career opportunities in human resources and management.

The Challenge That’s Holding Me Back

Despite all these positive changes, there’s one aspect of my health that I haven’t been able to address, and it’s affecting every part of my life. Years of poor nutrition, stress, and neglecting dental care have left my teeth in such bad condition that I can barely function normally anymore.

The pain has become so severe that I can’t eat most food. Healthy options like fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins are impossible to chew, which puts my diabetes management at risk. I’ve been surviving primarily on soft foods like mac and cheese, which I know isn’t helping my overall health. What should be one of life’s simple pleasures enjoying a meal has become a source of constant discomfort.

The impact goes far beyond physical pain. I’ve lost all confidence in social situations because I’m ashamed of my smile. I avoid making eye contact with people and find myself covering my mouth when I speak. Even though I now have my degree and qualifications to pursue better career opportunities, I struggle in interviews because I can’t project the confidence that these positions require.

What the Doctors Tell Me

I’ve consulted with four different dentists, hoping to find a less expensive solution, but they’ve all reached the same conclusion. My remaining teeth need to be removed, and the healthiest long-term solution at my age is All-on-4 dental implants. This isn’t about cosmetics it’s medically necessary for my nutrition, my overall health, and my ability to function in daily life.

The doctors have explained that at thirty-five, implants are the best investment for my future. Unlike dentures, which would need constant adjustments and replacements, implants will last for decades and allow me to eat normally, speak clearly, and smile with confidence again.

The Financial Reality

The total cost for this treatment is approximately seventy-five thousand dollars. As someone who has spent nearly two decades prioritizing my children’s needs over my own financial security, this amount feels impossible to achieve. I don’t have the credit history needed for traditional financing, and the down payments required are far beyond what I can manage on my own.

I’ve never been in a position where I had to ask others for help like this. I’ve always been the one working extra shifts, finding creative solutions, and making sacrifices to solve problems on my own. But I’ve realized that some challenges are too big to face alone, and this is one of them.

What This Means for My Future

Getting my dental health restored would change everything for me and my family. I could finally pursue the career opportunities that my degree has opened up, knowing that I can interview with confidence and interact professionally without worrying about my appearance. I could return to eating the nutritious foods that keep my diabetes under control, which is crucial for my long-term health.

More importantly, I could be fully present for my children again. I could attend their school events without feeling self-conscious, laugh openly at their jokes, and set an example of someone who doesn’t give up when faced with challenges.

Why I’m Reaching Out

Asking for help doesn’t come naturally to me. I’ve spent so many years being the strong one, the problem-solver, the person others could count on. But I’ve learned that accepting help when you truly need it isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a step toward being able to help others in the future.

Every person who chooses to support my campaign is investing in more than just my dental health. You’re investing in a mother’s ability to pursue her career goals after years of sacrifice. You’re supporting someone who has worked hard to overcome health challenges and is committed to continuing that journey. You’re helping someone who wants nothing more than to smile freely again and be the confident role model her children deserve.

My Promise to You

If you choose to support me, I promise that I won’t take your generosity lightly. I will use this opportunity to build a career and stability that will allow me to pay this kindness forward. I will take care of my health so that your investment in my future isn’t wasted. And I will never forget the community of people who believed in me when I needed it most.

Whether you’re able to contribute financially, share my story, or simply send words of encouragement, please know that every gesture means the world to me and my children. After years of putting others first, learning to accept help feels vulnerable, but I know that with your support, I can rebuild not just my smile, but my entire future.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering being part of our journey toward brighter days ahead.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
