John, Jess, Elijah, and Blaire here! John Sr., affectionately known in our family as Pops, is our beloved Dad and Grand-Dad. In our world, family always comes first, in the good times; gathered around a table on a random Saturday playing card games, and in hard times; gathering around and supporting each other when God allows us the privilege of refining ourselves through trials.
Right now, we find ourselves on a journey none of us expected – for the 3rd time, Pops finds himself in a fight against cancer. We are covering him in prayer and asking you to cover him in prayer as well. We are also asking, if you are in a position to assist financially, to help us cover his medical bills. He will be completing several rounds of chemo, has been prescribed expensive prescriptions and while he was being diagnosed, found himself in the hospital for nearly 10 days. He has medical insurance, praise God, but now they face paying their deductibles and out of pocket maximum…and financial stress is a killer we’d like to relieve him and Nana from so they can put their full energy into his healing.
Pops, the patriarch of our family, is always the first one to remind us to turn to God in our moments of uncertainty. He will offer up the shirt off his back (and hit you with an awesome dad joke as he’s doing it), he’s woken up early, gone to bed late in order to make sure others going through dark times feel God’s presence thru him. Now, we call upon the rest of the body to let him feel God’s presence through you.
