As many of you are aware, our friend John Baxter has recently experienced unexpected health challenges that will require him to undergo physical therapy and other treatments. Since he will be unable to work during this time, I am setting up a fundraiser to help him financially as he recovers from this sudden health setback.
On Saturday, June 7, John started experiencing urinary symptoms of urgency and extreme fatigue. He thought he had contracted a urinary tract infection, which he thought was a nuisance but completely treatable. His good friend Ruthie recommended that he call 911, but he delayed the call and his symptoms worsened. Ruthie finally called 911, and John was rushed to Abington Hospital by ambulance. After several tests, John was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation, a disruption in the heart rhythm that greatly decreased cardiac efficiency. In addition to A-Fib, John’s blood sugar was far into the diabetic range, and he was suffering from pneumonia.
By Wednesday, John felt like he was dying, and it seemed as though recovery was unlikely. Later that day, he underwent a Cardioverion procedure that used a powerful electrical pulse to shock the heart back into normal sinus rhythm. By the grace of God, the procedure was successful.
Going forward, John now faces rehab as he builds back his strength and recovers from this sudden health setback. The funds he receives from your donations will allow him to focus on his recovery and ease his financial burdens since he will be unable to return to work during this difficult time.
Please keep John in your prayers, and thank you in advance for your love, friendship, and support. ♥️
