Aloha kākou,
On Wednesday, June 10, Ina suffered a brain aneurysm and cardiac arrest while paddling with his Kai ʻEhitu crew off of Magic Sands. Thanks to their quick thinking and immediate action, they were able to perform life-saving measures and get him safely to shore. From there, he was transported to Kona Community Hospital and, early the next morning, life-flighted to Queen’s Medical Center on Oʻahu.
Ina is currently at Queen’s in a sedative state, allowing the medications and medical team to do their vital work to heal his body and brain.
We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers from all of you. Your aloha continues to carry our ʻohana through this time.
Donations will be managed by Kila, Ina’s brother, and will be used to support Ina’s girlfriend, Laurel, their four daughters, and our immediate ʻohana as we navigate the days ahead.
Please continue to keep Ina in your thoughts and prayers. We will share more updates as we are able.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Ynigues ʻOhana
