Help Peyton See the World Clearly—Without the Pain
This year has been one of big steps and brave leaps for our sweet Peyton. After being diagnosed with ADHD and a compound heterozygous MTHFR gene mutation, we began digging deep to understand how to best support her health. Along the way, we discovered another challenge: her vision.
In March, Peyton was prescribed another pair of glasses. While they’ve helped improve her clarity, they didn’t solve the whole problem. Peyton started experiencing daily headaches, especially after reading or playing at the park. At first, we weren’t sure why until her developmental eye exam revealed the actual issue.
Peyton was diagnosed with convergence insufficiency and accommodative dysfunction, conditions that make it difficult for her eyes to focus and work together as a team with her brain.
Her doctor recommended a 12-week vision therapy program. It’s a specialized series of weekly in-office exercises, home tools, and post-treatment support that can help her eyes work together again and eliminate the headaches. She’s fully approved and ready to start, but our insurance won’t pay for it.
The full cost of treatment for the evaluation and post-therapy care is $2,800 out of pocket.
Peyton is a fiery, determined 8-year-old who just wants to enjoy life. She’s full of energy, opinions, curiosity, and big dreams—and it’s hard to watch that fire dim because of something we literally can’t afford to fix. These headaches are stealing her joy, and we’re doing everything we can to fight for it back.
If you’re able to donate, share, or support her story in any way, we would be so grateful. Every bit helps us get closer to letting Peyton play, learn, and live without pain.
With heartfelt gratitude,
❤️ Piper and Peyton
