Hi my name is Rachel, I’m raising money to help my beautiful best friend Amy, who was diagnosed with an aggressive Glioma Brain Tumour earlier this year.
If you have ever had the privilege of meeting this kind and beautiful soul you would know why this came as a devastating shock to all that know her.
Amy and her family have not only had to grasp the severity of this situation but the long journey she will face over the next few years.
Her first seizure March 22nd 2025, to then find out on the 10th April that she has an aggressive brain tumour in her left frontal lobe, pressing into her brain matter. She has been told by the neurosurgeon he cannot biopsy due to it being too traumatic and risky due to the location of the tumour. She will have to wait till September for another MRI to determine the right treatment. It is going to be a long process for Amy, due to the location of the tumour. This is very overwhelming and the unknown is scary for Amy and her family.
Not only has Amy lost her health, she is unable to work her job in child protection that she loved, she is unable to drive her car due to the seizures, has lost her independence to be able to support her children. Amy has always been so health conscious, always in the gym training. This is how we met seven years ago.
Amy has been put on life long anti seizure medication. Since her first seizure, Amy mainly sleeps, she’s terrified to go out incase she has another seizure.
As you can imagine it is heartbreaking seeing my beautiful friend go through such a traumatic experience.
Amy just wants to be able to create as many special memories with her two children Bray & Mya.
Thank you for any help and support you can offer her at this difficult time.
