Just Trying to Keep the Lights On – Rent & Power Help

This has been the most chaotic, unlucky year of my damn life. I hurt my back, missed work, and life just hasn’t let up since. Delayed disability payments, overdraft fees, busted headlights, power steering leaks, four bald tires I had to replace, and yeah — I just yanked headlight assemblies from the junkyard just to stay legal and get to work on time, (which is dark), trying to wire them in today. Which, with my back, I shouldn’t be doing at all. On top of that. They overpaid me so will be garnishing $270 from my next paycheck. IRS want to garnish $200. And my student loans for this computer Science degree, well they want to start garnishing as well.

To make things worse, I tried to go back to work too soon. I thought I was doing the right thing — trying to push through the pain and make real money again — but I didn’t know disability wouldn’t pay unless I missed four days in a row. If I’d just stayed on continuous leave for three months, I would’ve gotten paid. But no, I had to try and be responsible. Like an idiot.

Now I’m behind on rent and the power’s about to be cut. The meter’s still hanging on, but it won’t be much longer. I’m not asking for anything extra — just $700 to cover rent and electric, the two things I need most right now to stop this slide.

If you’ve ever been stuck like this, you know how fast things fall apart. If you can help, I appreciate the hell out of it. And if you can’t, just sharing this would mean a lot too.

Thanks for even reading this far. I hate asking — but I’m outta pride, outta options, and just trying to hang on. I have a good job, make good money but this injury has really screwed things up.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
