Hi, I’m Sharon Banyas Hefetz—a mom of three, a wellness and mindset coach, and someone who recently got the news no one wants to hear: The cancer is back.
In August 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 ultra high-risk Multiple Myeloma, the most advanced form of this rare and aggressive blood cancer. I committed fully to healing—through targeted immunochemotherapy, nutrition, mindset work, and spiritual practices—and after several intense months, I reached full remission.
But in 2025, the cancer returned—more aggressively and in a new, more complex form.
I’ve just begun radiation treatments, and in the coming weeks, I’ll start a new round of chemotherapy that’s expected to leave me physically down for three to six months. Right now, I’m juggling four to six medical appointments each week, including therapies and follow-ups, just to keep my body stable and moving forward. I also rely on supplements and nutritional support to strengthen my immune system and manage the effects of treatment.
My husband is working full-time and doing everything he can to keep things going for our family. But with three children to care for and this constant treatment load, the financial strain has become more than we can manage on our own.
Many of the therapies and support systems that help me stay resilient aren’t covered by insurance. Your contribution—no matter how small—makes a real difference. It allows me to continue this difficult journey without the added weight of wondering how we’ll afford to keep going.
Thank you for being part of this fight with me.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sharon
Where Will the $89,200 Go?
This fundraiser is to help cover a full year of out-of-pocket costs for my cancer treatment. Five months have already passed, placing a heavy financial strain on our family—and there’s still a long road ahead.
Here’s where the money is going:
Insurance premiums + medical co-pays & bills – approx. $3,500/month
Nutritional and immune system support – $1,000/month
Additional therapies to support recovery – $800/month
Paid home support – $700/month
Therapy for my children – $600/month
Meals on treatment days – $500/month
Urgent dental work (required before chemo) – $4,000
These costs add up quickly and are mostly not covered by insurance. Your support helps ease the weight—so I can focus on healing and being present for my kids.
With heartfelt thanks,
Sharon
