This here is LaikLynn. She was a micro preemie, only weighing 2 lbs 6 oz and 16 inches long. Little Laiky’s momma Jade was life-flighted to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, on February 13th, 2024, where she would have Laiky the very next day by C-section.
Laiky spent 53 days in the NICU before being able to come home, only weighing 4 lbs 7 oz.
She later caught a virus called human metapneumovirus, where she was then hospitalized and later intubated and life-flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital. She was in the PICU for almost a month and then in recovery for almost a month before coming home on oxygen and an NG tube (feeding tube) for the next month. Ever since, they have seen specialist after specialist from Idaho to Salt Lake, Utah, where some questions were answered and some were not. Laiky has been growing the way we need her to, so her primary care doctor and another specialist agreed the best option was to hospitalize her at Primary Children’s Hospital until there was a solution to help or questions were answered. Laiky just had surgery this morning to put a G-tube in (feeding tube in stomach) and also did a hearing test. They found Laiky is also hard of hearing and will have a later hearing test in a couple of weeks to see if it is permanent hearing loss or not. So with that being said, Laiky’s mom Jade has now been out of work for a good amount of time so she could be with her baby girl while they get the answers they need. If anyone would like to help her, her Cash App is $itzgoose24 or donate here. If you can’t do either, just sharing it helps with some prayers for a fast recovery.
