Nala, my 9 week old kitten was tragically bitten by a dog. We immediately took her to the ER and were told she has a fractured jaw, and a broken rib. Because of the location and severity of her injuries, she can’t close her mouth or chew food, making it impossible for her to eat or drink on her own. Our attempts at syringe feeding her have been less than successful. She urgently needs surgery to repair her jaw—without it, her chances of recovery are slim.
We’ve taken her to several vets since being discharged from the ER and have already spent hundreds on consultations, only to be told that the surgery she needs will cost us upwards of $10,000. The most affordable quote we’ve received so far is around $8,500– just for the jaw repair.
