Humbly Asking For Help After Multiple Surgeries
This is not easy for me to write, and it’s incredibly humbling to even ask for help — but life has thrown us more than we can handle on our own.
In October 2023, I underwent knee surgery. Just a few months later, in January 2024, I had to have emergency spinal surgery. We truly believed that was the end of a very difficult chapter. But now, only months later, we’ve been hit with devastating news: every screw from my spinal surgery has broken, and I now need to go through a second major spinal surgery in less than 18 months.
We’ve worked so hard to stay afloat financially through all of this. My boyfriend and I have done everything possible to catch up on our mortgage, car payments, and everyday living expenses. We were finally starting to breathe again when this new medical setback struck. On top of the mounting medical bills, my boyfriend will need to take unpaid time off work to care for me during my recovery, as I won’t be able to take care of myself for quite some time.
We are absolutely overwhelmed. The truth is, we simply cannot do this alone anymore. We are behind on our mortgage, car payment, and bills, and are terrified of losing the little stability we have left.
It breaks our hearts to even ask, but if you’re able to help — whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our story — it would mean more to us than words can say. Every single dollar will go toward our basic living expenses while I recover: keeping a roof over our heads, keeping our vehicle, and keeping food on the table.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading this, for your prayers, and for any help you can give. Your kindness and support give us hope to keep pushing forward.
