I’m not one to ask for assistance. I’m very independent and usually can make things happen on my own, but this time. I’m sucking up my pride, because it’s not for me. It’s for my baby. Makinley was born premature with a chromosomal syndrome ( 16p11.2 microdeletion ) She has had occupational, physical and speech therapy ever since she was a baby. While she has grown and made progress. She still doesn’t “talk.” She does say about four words, but with the help of her pediatrician and speech therapist. Makinley has gotten an AAC device (talker) through my work insurance. My insurance has covered a huge portion of the total cost, but I owe the balance of $738. Unfortunately, I don’t have any savings and I really don’t want to have to send her talker back to the medical supply company. I appreciate you stopping to read. Thank you!
