Steve was coming home on May 17th and was in a horrific accident. An SUV pulled out in front of him on his motorcycle as he was coming home from the Hawg Pit in Grafton IL for bike week. With no time to stop, he slammed into the side of the SUV with such force, the axle broke. Steve along with his bike were crushed. Luckily they were able to tourniquet his leg or he would have bled out on the highway. From being in and out of consciousness; he doesn’t remember the other details still. An ambulance rushed him to Big Barnes and had to undergo multiple surgeries. His left leg is completely crushed and his right arm shattered. Over 5 plates and screws in his arm, a rod in his leg and still needing multiple surgeries, he is going to be in for the long haul. He is unable to walk and may have issues in future. He has been in and out of Barnes’ hospital facilities since the accident. Working for the IBEW, this accident now has forced him into early retirement as he is no longer able to do so. We are trying to help him cover expenses that are accruing now and in the future. Anything to help our brother out would be greatly appreciated.
