We adopted Cooper about a month ago, and he is a wonderful, sweet, loving, four-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog. On Father’s Day, we woke up and he was lethargic, and not eating or drinking. Our once playful puppy was laying on the back patio, not moving. I took him to the emergency vet and we found out that he had a fever, and he was rapidly declining in health. He has elevated liver enzymes, but they don’t know what’s causing this illness. Cooper was admitted to the hospital and has been in critical care. We’ve only had him for one month, but our family, including our three young kids, all love him. He has his whole life ahead of him, and we’re afraid it will be cut short by whatever this illness is. I want to keep him alive, so I’ve been paying the vet bills, but they are getting higher and higher, and I don’t want the vet bills to prevent us from saving his life. We need help to keep him alive.
