Fighting for My Life—Again: Help Me Prepare for a Second Kidney Transplant
Hi, my name is Natalie, and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and a story that’s taken a difficult turn—for the second time.
At just 12 years old, I was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease that attacked my kidneys and led to kidney failure. I received my first kidney transplant as a child and held onto that gift of life for as long as I could (15 years). But now, I’m facing the same devastating fight again—my transplanted kidney has failed, and I’m back on dialysis, awaiting another transplant.
This journey has been long and painful—emotionally, physically, and financially. The pre-transplant process is intensive, involving constant lab work, specialist visits, hospital travel, and medications that aren’t always covered by insurance. While I try to stay strong and focused on healing, the mounting medical bills are overwhelming.
Your support will help me cover:
Pre-transplant testing and evaluations
Transportation and lodging for medical visits
Medications and treatments not fully covered by insurance
Living expenses while I’m unable to work due to treatment
I never thought I’d have to go through this a second time—but I’m holding onto hope and fighting for a future filled with life, creativity, and the freedom to just breathe again.
If you’re able to donate, I’d be so incredibly grateful. And if you can’t give right now, please consider sharing my story. Every bit of support helps me move one step closer to healing.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Natalie
