My name is Misty, and I’m reaching out for help after a series of life-changing injuries. While working as an assistant manager at an apartment complex, I suffered five major injuries on the job: to my neck, back, knee, shoulder, and hand/wrist. The most devastating was a radial nerve injury that required surgery, and I am no longer able to use my right (dominant) hand. This injury has left me unable to perform the duties of my job or continue my career. Since then, I’ve faced daily challenges with basic tasks and have been unable to return to work.
Workers’ compensation has cut off most of my treatment, and I’ve been left to navigate this difficult journey alone. I am currently in physical therapy for my hand after surgery, but treatment for my other injuries has been stopped. After a year of struggling with these injuries, I was let go from my job. I don’t have family to help, and I’ve been struggling for over a year to keep up with bills, access the medical care I desperately need, and find a safe place to live. The financial strain and isolation have made recovery even harder, but I’m determined to keep moving forward.
I am also raising funds to continue my medical treatment for my other injuries until I am able to go to court. Any support will make a real difference in my life and help me regain some stability and hope for the future. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can offer.
