Help Donovan on his fight against Lymphoma!
My brother Donovan, who is only 37, has been recently diagnosed with Stage 4 T-cell/histiocyte-rich large B-cell lymphoma (THRLBCL); a rare form of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. What started with what he thought was a lipoma under his arm, ended up with those three dreaded words “you have cancer.” Donovan recognized a lump forming under his left armpit and after feeling multiple nodules upon palpation, he went to his primary doctor to have it checked. He was sent for an ultrasound which showed a group of enlarged lymph nodes, which led to an ultrasound guided needle biopsy, CT scan, large sample biopsy, PET scan and bone marrow biopsy, leading to his diagnosis. The PET scan showed his entire lymph system enlarged with “innumerable masses” in his liver and spleen, as well as bone marrow involvement. Though this process and diagnosis has been extremely tough and mentally exhausting, Donovan has an optimistic outlook as he prepares to fight lymphoma head on!! He had his portacath placed today (6/12) and his treatment will include 4 to 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy. Donovan has already missed multiple days of work in order to get all of his tests and procedures done, however, once he starts his chemotherapy he will have to continue to take time to rest and recover. Donovan has been mentally and physically drained over these past few weeks, so I am asking for help so he doesn’t have to worry financially as he already has a lot on his plate. Donovan is one of the strongest men I know! I’m soo proud of how he’s handling everything thus far and I know he’s going to fight his hardest! To know Donovan is to love him— He’s enthusiastic, hilarious, and passionate. He’s a proud father of two, loving husband, caring son, supportive brother, and great friend. Let’s rally around him to help him get through this! Please keep Donovan and our whole family in your prayers. Thank you in advance!
