Hi, my name is Amelia, and I started TeenSmilesMatterToo because I’ve seen what it’s like when teens are left out of care. There are so many kids and teens who go through every day with untreated dental pain. Aching teeth, infections, bleeding gums. And they stay quiet because they can’t afford help. Most don’t even have the basics like a toothbrush or toothpaste.
They stop smiling. They avoid school. They lose confidence. And the truth is, the system doesn’t notice. I wanted to do something about that, even if it starts small.
This project is about giving teens the essentials they’ve been denied. Every donation helps provide dental hygiene kits that include toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash. If we raise more, I’ll use it to help teens get cleanings and checkups through clinics or local programs. I also hope to run events that focus on building self-esteem, because dental pain is not just physical. It affects how teens see themselves and how they show up in the world.
If you’ve ever had a toothache, you know how bad it hurts. Now imagine living with that pain for the rest of your life no help, no tools, and no one even asking if you are okay. That is the reality for so many teens because no one asks about them, they’re forgotten.
This is about more than teeth. It is about comfort. It is about dignity. It is about making sure no one is forgotten.
