This is a medical fundraiser page for Brother Jim Green and his wife, Jan Green, of Smyrna, TN. Last Tuesday, while visiting family in Lynn, AL, Jim had an unfortunate fall from a tall ladder. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where it was discovered that he had several broken ribs (some broken in multiple places) and a spinal fracture. Thankfully, there was no head injury. He was then taken by LifeFlight to the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham (UAB). Once there, the scans showed a fracture of the sixth vertebrae. It was decided the next day that he would need spinal surgery. The surgery is finally scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th. Rods and screws will be inserted to stabilize the vertebrae. For now, Jim and Jan are just waiting in his ICU room, where he is battling severe pain. Jan has been staying in the hospital with him.
Brother Green and Jan have asked only for prayers for a successful surgery and a swift recovery. However, this is going to be a long and costly journey. Medicare will cover some, but not all, of the hospital fees. Once out of the hospital, physical and occupational therapy is most likely to go on for a while to build back muscles and stamina. There is also the possibility of medical devices needed at home. If you have the ability and heart to donate, it would be much appreciated by Jim and Jan. Every dollar will be used for expenses surrounding the hospitalization and recovery and every dollar counts. The uncertainty of everything makes this situation even more scary for the family.
Brother Green is currently the pastor at Trinity Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Carthage, TN. He had pastored at other churches in Alabama and preached at many revivals over the decades.
