I started this fundraiser for dental work. I have had severe dental issues for over 15 years now due to a prescription medication I was on for many years, which caused calcium to be stripped from my teeth, causing long-term issues. I never had a cavity in my life until about 15 years ago, and I suddenly had 11 at once. I have had 9 teeth extracted since then and currently wear partial dentures. However, most of my crowns do not last and have to be replaced every few years, and then the teeth eventually need to be extracted. At this point, I have been told I am looking at full-mouth dentures in the not-too distant future. Right now I no longer have any lower back teeth and can only eat on one side, so eating has become challenging. I never thought it would become this severe and I am not in a position to continue with the high cost of dental treatment or take out a huge loan.
I am trying to avoid full-mouth dentures and would like to get a few implants on the top and bottom so that I can continue with partial dentures (the less teeth you have, the less teeth the partials can grip on to, but with implants I can avoid pulling all of them and getting full dentures), but dental work is extremely costly. I have been quoted about $30,000 for this (and that is with insurance!). Without implants, I am estimating it is roughly about $10,000 to continue with crowns, extractions, and partial dentures. Right now I need 3-4 extractions as I have been putting off most of this for awhile due to finances, so I would like to get started on this sooner rather than later.
I realize this is very extreme, and I hate asking for money, but I am at out of options at this point. I do not expect anything, but anything helps!
I asked my dentist to write a letter stating the severity of my situation and that I need full-mouth restoration, but they cannot do this due to HIPAA privacy concerns, so I am attaching my gross x-rays to help illustrate the severity of my situation. These were taken before my most recent extraction several months ago.
