This is Lucia Parker, and I would like to share my brother-in-law Marcus Hausman’s story. Although he is at home now, he has a long road to recovery, and he and his family have accumulated many medical bills. Please see his story below from my sister Gina.
Now that I can breathe… this week has been the worst week of our lives. Marc had an infection in his finger that caused his body to go septic. We know this now but didn’t know that then. We thought he was sick with the stomach bug, but in reality, he was dangerously ill. By the time we got him to the hospital, he was going septic, and his blood sugars were out of control. They immediately placed him in the ICU and intubated him to help his body heal. The infection landed in his knee, which caused him to have knee surgery to clear out all the infection. He also came down with pneumonia. It was a very rough 6 days. Lots of ups and downs, but we are finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. The roughest part is behind us. Now the road to recovery begins. Thank you to all who did know and reached out. I’m sorry to those that didn’t. I just couldn’t answer questions, calls, or texts with things that I didn’t know. It was what I needed to get through. Your continued prayers are very welcomed as we work to get him home to the kids. They miss and love their daddy so much.
Note: He is awake, talking, and doing much better! And after 3 weeks, he is finally home and recuperating with his family.
