Class of 1965 — A Call for Compassion
Supporting Our Classmate, Fred Gonzales
Dear Classmates and Friends,
As we prepare to celebrate our class reunion, we are reminded that the heart of our gathering lies not only in the memories—but in the people who shaped them. One of our own, Fred, is facing extraordinary challenges. He recently underwent the amputation of his right leg and has been told that his left leg must now also be removed. With remarkable strength and determination, he has asked his doctors to delay that procedure until after the reunion, so he can be with us—his classmates—one last time.
In addition to this difficult medical journey, Fred is also enduring deep personal hardship, huge medical bills, and now including a wife who wouldn’t hang in there.
As a class family, we are asking for your help to raise $800 to cover the cost of bringing Fredto the reunion. Your donations will go directly toward:
Round-trip transportation between Lakewood and Trinidad
A 3-night stay in a handicapped-accessible hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn
His reunion registration
This support will allow Fred to attend a weekend filled with care, camaraderie, and comfort—surrounded by the people who remember who he was and who still care deeply. If, for amputation reasons, Fred cannot join us, all monies will be returned to the donars.
Please consider making a donation through our fundraiser page:
Or if you prefer to give by cash or check, contributions can be mailed to or brought to the reunion:

Let’s lift up our classmate with the same kindness and loyalty that once made our school years unforgettable. Thank you for helping bring him to this special gathering.
With sincere appreciation,
Sally Miller
