On Sunday, June 15, 2025, our beloved mother, Patricia, was rushed to the emergency room due to severe weakness and dehydration. She had been battling indigestion and pain for a few weeks prior. From there, everything changed in an instant. She was life-flighted to Mercy Hospital, where doctors discovered multiple blockages in her mesenteric artery—cutting off critical blood flow to her organs.
We held onto hope. She was transferred again to a larger hospital for a complex surgery, which would have required multiple procedures, hours in the operating room, and days on a ventilator with her abdomen left open to monitor dying tissue. But on June 17th, we were told the most heartbreaking news: Patricia has only a 1% chance of surviving the surgery, and she would never be able to come off life support. The medical team recommended we consider hospice.
With strength and clarity, Patricia made the brave decision to transition to comfort care—and we are supporting her every step of the way, doing everything we can to honor her wishes while she’s still able to express them.
Patricia just turned 70 on June 3rd. She is a strong, loving, hardworking woman who has spent her life giving everything to those she loves. Until very recently, she was still working full time. She has raised a beautiful family by herself after being widowed in 1993. She is the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren (ten surviving) and seven great-grandchildren who love her deeply.
She has always faced life’s challenges with courage and independence, but the financial burden of this medical crisis is more than she or we can carry alone. She did not have savings, and her insurance and life insurance will not come close to covering the growing costs of:
Emergency and ICU care
Life flights and hospital transfers
Hospice and comfort care
End-of-life arrangements and burial services
We are humbly asking for your help. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to relieve some of the financial weight as we focus on being present with Patricia during this sacred time.
Whether you are able to donate or simply share this page, your support means the world to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us honor our mother’s life with the dignity, care, and love she deserves.
With love and gratitude,
Her daughters,
Candi, Stacy, and Katrina
