Help Me Become a Mom — After Loss, Hope, and a Ticking Clock
This year, at 40 years old, I made the decision to fight for something I’ve wanted my entire life—to become a mother. I’m doing this on my own, not because I wanted it this way, but because the right partner never came. The dream of motherhood, though, never left me.
In recent months, I’ve been diagnosed with several conditions that make this already difficult journey even more urgent: PCOS, hypothyroidism, a large uterine fibroid that sits outside of the uterus, and very low ovarian reserve. My doctors have been clear: We need to move quickly—your window is closing.
So, I’m pursuing IVF with a donor, and I’m doing everything I can to hold onto this dream while I still have time.
But the financial cost is overwhelming—and my insurance doesn’t cover infertility treatment.
While I’ve looked into fertility grants, most are awarded only once or twice per year and are extremely competitive. Even if I were fortunate enough to be selected, the funds typically wouldn’t be disbursed in time to help with my current treatment timeline. I don’t have the luxury of waiting months—I need to act now while I still have a chance.
Here’s what I’m facing next:
• $16,000 – IVF procedure
• $1,000 – Donor sperm
• $4,000–$6,000 – Fertility medications (stimulation meds, trigger shots, progesterone) not covered by insurance
• $800–$1,000 – Additional uncovered costs such as short-term embryo storage until transfer
Altogether, the total expected cost is between $24,000.
My goal is to begin treatment this August, and with your help, I’ll be one step closer to holding the child I’ve dreamed of my whole life.
I’ve created this fundraiser to help bridge the gap between hope and reality. Your support—whether through a donation or a simple share—could make all the difference.
You’re not just helping me start a family. You’re helping me fight for something deeply personal: the chance to love, raise, and protect a life that doesn’t exist yet—but one I already love with all my heart.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for believing.
