This will be one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write, but I am starting this account to benefit my best friend of 25 years, Lana Ayla Smith, for medical expenses & a long journey ahead.
First and foremost, Lana is an amazing wife to her husband Robert, & mother to 4 beautiful babies, Summer 13, Sonny 5, Slater 4, & Silos a few days shy of 1 year. She is a loving sister, daughter, niece, and the best friend anyone can have. I know that so many people can attest to that. An amazing human being. She is only 34 years young. She attended dental hygiene school and became a registered dental hygienist all while being a mom of 3. A truly exemplary family oriented person.
To give a little backstory, Lana went to several PCP’s and GI doctors since this past February in regards to stomach pain. They told her it could be IBS or even pelvic floor dysfunction. A few days ago she went into the emergency room with stomach pain where they did an endoscopy. She was given news that no one ever wants to hear. Stage 4 stomach cancer and 4-7 months to live. (God has the last word)
She is currently admitted at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. We are NOT giving up hope that she WILL beat this! However the road to healing ahead is a long one and unfortunately, being sick is expensive. Her husband Robert has had to miss work to be by her’s and their babies’ side.
