As many of us know Dan Dykstra to be loyal to his family, friends, religion, and the City of Hudsonville. For those lucky enough to know him, he is truly a blessing. Dan and Tami have lived in hudsonville for over 30 years. Dan is an avid hunter and fisherman. He loves his dogs and has hunted with many of them thru the years. As he may not be able to hunt or fish as much as he would like, he and Tami take their dogs on long walks in the woods, and parks as they both enjoy the outdoors. Dan has served on Chamber of Commerce and many power washing cleaning organizations
volunteered countless hours where it was needed over the years for many different organizations
Some of you know Dan has been battling cancer since last fall. He has been fighting thru 2 rounds of Chemo, all the tests, and now radiation treatments while still keeping his Fleet Cleaning business going. He is to proud to ask for help or let his customers down. Feeling sick, and so tired he would just fall asleep, but he keeps going. He is determined to keep doing what he loves while he fights this horrible disease. Dan is a trooper. He is self employed and a lot of cancer treatments are not covered by insurance, placing an overwhelming financial burden on Dan and Tami.
We all know how rough and unpredictable going thru Chemo and Radiation can be. He needs this community, his friends, and family more now than ever.
With that being said their great friend Mavis Byers and myself will be starting a fundraiser Account to help Dan and Tami with all the bills and costs that come with this horrible disease. They would never ask for help but if we can relief some of the stress by asking all those lives that Dan and Tami have touched in one way or another to now return the favor.
As Dan is trying to stay determined and positive his faith and hope are in God. We know he will take care of him.
